On the CMS website (http://www.cmsserv.com) there is a "Directory" feature, which used to list ALL residents' names, addresses and telephone numbers. I thought that was great, but was surprised that there weren't complaints (actually I figured no one knew about it or there would be). Well, evidently there were some, or something else happened as there are now only 10 people listed there (now 11, since I added myself)... But residents/owners can "opt in" to having their information (all or some) included on the list. I think it's a great idea, and would encourage others to do the same if they're so inclined. In my case, I was looking for a neighbor's phone number to ask a question about a maintenance issue. Karin Lynn 1763A S. Hayes dklynn2@comcast.net
In the past (2 or 3 years ago) at shouthampton, many residents had an issue with mail carriers delivering mail to the wrong address. This was resolved somehow, but I can't seem to remember how. Is anyone else having similar issues recently? Does anyone remember how we were able to get the incorrectly delivered mail to stop?
It would be nice if there was a flyer distributed with specifics on exactly what types of materials the recycling company accepts and what is the best way to leave recyclables out so that they can easily pick them up and not confuse them with trash.
I'm having issues tracking down where to send my first association payment and the amount etc. I haven't received anything since I closed on my unit late last month. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I contacted CMS Services (per http://www.arlingtonva.us/departments/countyboard/org/condo.asp#S) but they said they were no longer managing Southampton. When I follow the link on this blog, I end up at the "Association Voice" site; when I attempt to register, I receive the error: "We were not able to locate the association you were trying to sign up for. Please contact your association directly to obtain instructions for signing up.
What are the condo's rules on container gardening? (specifically herbs, greens etc)? Do we need to send for permission to the board, or if it is our front/back patio is it ok?
Carol, the rules are not clear. They used to be until the Board changed the Bylaws. What rules that exist are not enforced, and the criteria are not clear.
